How does dementia affect people?
Dementia is a serious condition that affects the brain. It can cause memory loss, confusion and changes in behaviour. Over time, people living with dementia may struggle with everyday tasks and need more support from others. It also has a big emotional impact on families and carers.
What do you do?
At Town Break Dementia Support, we help people across Forth Valley who are living with dementia, along with their unpaid carers. We run groups and activities that bring people together, boost confidence and support mental wellbeing. We also give carers valuable time to rest, knowing their loved ones are safe and supported.
How many people do you help?
Since we began, we’ve supported over 12,500 families. In 2023, we received 349 new referrals – that’s more than ever before. Demand continues to grow, especially since COVID-19, and we support people every week through our services.
How much money do you make annually?
Our income changes year to year and comes from donations, grants, and fundraising. In 2022, we raised £291,223. These funds are vital to keep our services going and growing.
How would £3,000 help?
A donation of £3,000 could make a real difference. It would help us:
-
Reach more people across Forth Valley who need support
-
Offer new activities that are fun, creative, and engaging
-
Train our staff and volunteers to provide the best care
-
Use technology like online groups or digital resources to stay connected
Your support would help people with dementia feel less alone – and help their families feel supported too.
